The beach of "Los Saladares", "Saladar" or "Urbanova" is a semi-urban protected beach, without seafront promenade, with blue flag status, composed mainly by sand. It is located 5 km south of Alicante, part of the beach belongs to Elche (from there south it receives the name of Playa del Altet and later on Arenales del Sol). It takes its name from the extensive salt marsh of Aigua Amarga, a wetland of great value that has survived the urbanizations. In summer, until September 15, an access point for people with disabilities is installed. It allows access to dogs between October and February (Agua Amarga beach is the only one authorized all year round).
