The city of Alicante raises this monument dedicated to all citizens who gave their lives and fought in the War of Independence, in the early nineteenth century against the French, defending the city and its citizens. It is near the Castillo de San Fernando, which was built at that time precisely to defend against the invasion of the neighboring country. You can contemplate it at the roundabout at the end of Calle Escultor Bañuls.
