Beniarres swamp

The Beniarrés reservoir is located in the municipality of Beniarrés, in the province of Alicante (Spain). It was built in 1958 in the channel of the Serpis River, occupies an area of 268 Ha, with a maximum capacity of 27 hm3. It has a gravity dam of 5 meters high, with flood gates of 1,000 m³ / s capacity. Fishing is allowed. Carp and black bass are fished, navigation is also allowed. This reservoir belongs to the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation and its waters are used to irrigate the Safor orchard.
