The Carabassi is a beach formed by a dune system and pine forests. It is located between Santa Pola and Arenales del Sol district. Of great ecological value. Beachside find the salt marshes and wetlands of Els Bassals and Clot de Galvany. This small cove separates the two main beaches of Levante and Poniente. It is located between Punta Canfali and the port. Opposite the beach is l'Illa de Benidorm (Benidorm Island) which houses a submerged platform known as La Llosa, an important marine reserve a treat for scuba divers. This good quality beach has been in the possession of a Blue Flag since 1987. The beach for dogs The Xarco in Villajoyosa was inaugurated in 2015, and in 2018 it is still open to our dogs. It is a small natural beach, beautiful and quiet, formed by gravel and rock located south of the city. The right part of the beach is the one that is enabled for dogs. The nudist beach El Pinet is next to the Salinas Natural Park, at the southern end of Santa Pola. Only accessible on foot, by wooden walkways over the dunes. Next to the beach Pinet are the Salinas de Bonmatí and the base of the watchtower the Pinet. It begins a a hiking trail that crosses the dunes of Santa Pola. Many waterfowl overwinter in this area and breed in spring. Blue Flag and municipal natural park (2005). The sand is interrupted at times by ancient canals of the salt. Following local walking path SL-CV50, which comes down along the barranco de la Viuda, you will reach a cove which is only accessible on foot or by sea. On the way in you'll see the remains of an old lookout point where the police would watch for tobacco and fabric smugglers. You'll also see the fishermens' shelters, which are still in use today. This pebble and rock cove is 120 metres long and 10 metres wide. It has been declared a plant micro-reserve, with species such as the Giant Orchid (Barlia robertiana), Broom or genista (Genista tricuspidata) and morning glory (Convolvulus valentinus).
This stunningly attractive, peaceful spot is ideal for diving and fishing, relaxing in the sun or swimming. Its waters, which can be rough, highlight the beautiful rocks being polished by the eternal lapping of the waves. This small, undeveloped rocky cove is 200 metres long and eight metres wide and is a peaceful place. The surrounding cliffs are part of the 'Sites of Community Importance' established by the European Commission's Natura 2000 initiative. Bird spotters will find this a good place for spotting birds like the northern gannet, the European shag and several types of seagull. Access to the cove is via an amazing balcony with views over the Mediterranean.
